CinemaZ
Project Details
An industry-standard proposal for the user interface of a cinema app. CinemaZ was designed using Mockflow and based off real UI/UX principles such as Norman's principles & the golden rules of UX.
User Flowcharts
Why User Flowcharts
In UI/UX design, user flow is incredibly important as it highlights priority screens and helps designers map out common tasks to gain a better understanding of the app's functions and features. Flowcharts allow us to decrease travel time between menus and handle errors; they are a vital tool in the world of UI/UX design.
These flowcharts were designed and created using LucidChart
High Fidelity Wireframes
The Blueprint
Each of these wireframes was designed with UI principles and security in mind from step 1. The goal was not only to build a convenient app that could be used by anyone, but also an ecosystem for movie fanatics. The movie membership tab and Letterboxd-style movie list bring a new angle of use to the application that stays relevant to the brand. Common UI principles that were always considered were consistency, recognition over recall & reducing friction. CinemaZ was designed to be a hub for casual and dedicated movie enthusiasts that focused on UI/UX design at every step of the way.
These high-fidelity wireframes were designed and created using Mockflow
Project Documentation
The Documentation
This comprehensive document goes into depth on the functions and features of CinemaZ in a technical and industry orientated manner. The document covers each flowchart in detail while also analysing and evaluating each wireframe separately. Lastly, the document covers the core UI/UX Principles used and includes a reflection and extra documentation at the end.
The reason this documentation was done in a comprehensive manner was to emulate industry-standard documentation and record process of idea to plan to design to evaluating.
Project Outcome
This project cemented my interest in UI/UX as my first personal project. Not only was it based on design and creative thinking using the UI workspace Mockflow, but it was also presented as an industry-standard proposal, accompanied by professional documentation, and followed industry-recognized UI/UX principles—strengthening my ability to write formal and concise documentation. It deepened my knowledge of UI/UX principles and the importance of consistency, simplicity, & frictionless design, in addition to improving my skills in UI/UX design using Mockflow and diagram creation using Lucidchart. Overall, as my first non-academic UI/UX project, It cemented my interest in the field and the immense value it has on my main interest of Cybersecurity.
